I imagine they have to be out.  Or very close. Seems like they move just after the sage rats and they have been out for 3+ weeks.

I personally think its still cold for them, even if its a little warm during a day, but cold at nights.

Used to do that to kill time during the work day back in the Tri-Cities.  We were hunting them from May through August.  We would go out in the sage brush around a farm we worked on right at day break and watch for them to be moving around.  Killed a few really nice ones.  Make yourself a snake whip(no 9 wire works great) and get a shovel.  You can use the whip to smack them and it breaks their back and then the shovel to decapitate them. We always wore protective chaps just incase. If you wanna hunt them during the day, use the shovel and snake whip to poke around in rock piles or any place that they could hide and stay cool, listen for the rattle and try to get them to come out.  It was a rush, I hate snakes, but man did your adrenaline get going when you found a few of them in some rocks and they were coming out in front and behind you!  Giving me chills now thinking about it lol

I need to try this! I'm guessing they are "unclassified wildlife"?

Do you need any type of permit for rattlesnakes? I would imagine there wouldn't be a problem killing one if you run into it, but this is WA, and common sense does not always match up with regs.
There is something just indescribably painful about being stuck behind a prius on the interstate.

Thats funny
Not looking for shovel action, want to mount one for sure
Mainly just want to do it and eat them
Its a long drive to go out that way for 1 or even no snakes, would like to find a mother lode
Do farmers/ranchers allow snake hunters on land?
Maybe some out there can do some checking into it for me  (AND U)
